Bridge to Brisbane 2025 – My 10km Journey

Bridge to Brisbane 2025 – My 10km Journey
Me competing in the bridge to Brisbane

On Sunday, I lined up with more than 37,000 people for the Bridge to Brisbane 10km, and what an experience it was. From the moment I arrived, I could feel the buzz in the air – the roads were alive with energy, filled with runners, walkers, families, and charity groups all ready to take on the challenge.

The start was crowded, but there was something incredible about being part of such a massive sea of people moving with the same goal: to make it across the city, step by step. As we headed over the Gateway Bridge, I took a moment to look out across the river. The view was stunning, and it really hit me how special this event is for Brisbane.

I finished the 10km in 68 minutes, and I couldn’t be happier with that. It wasn’t about chasing a personal best – it was about proving to myself that I could do it, enjoying the atmosphere, and reminding myself of how far I’ve come. Every cheer from the crowd, every high-five from the volunteers, and every bit of encouragement along the course kept me moving forward.

Crossing the finish line, I felt a mix of pride and gratitude. Pride for sticking it out and getting the job done, and gratitude for being able to share the road with thousands of others who were all chasing their own goals.

The Bridge to Brisbane isn’t just a run – it’s a celebration of health, community, and resilience. I’m already looking forward to the next one.
